Our Story

Welcome to Fleurish by the Sea. We are Dave and Melanie Cox. Fifteen years ago we discovered Maine and fell in love with this beautiful state. It offered us easy access to incredible nature, a slower pace of life, wonderful people, space to spread out with far fewer crowds and cars, and the peace and serenity we were craving.
 

Melanie has always had a passion for flowers - growing, marketing, arranging, and painting them. And she has always loved art -studying, collecting, painting, and drawing. She has dreamt of a farm by the sea for quite some time. Dave, a somewhat reformed workaholic, has always found gardening to be his go-to activity to help him stay present and connected. He has enjoyed transitioning to a part-time executive coach and consultant versus his prior all-consuming tech industry roles. Fleurish by the Sea is our midlife creation. It combines our desire to live by the sea, to grow flowers and ultimately to offer a place where others can dream and flourish as well.

 

We are excited about our third season growing and selling cut flowers. This summer we are further expanding the volume and varieties we grow. We will have some additional flower offerings in our online shop and hopefully a farmstand soon. We also continue to plan for our longer-term vision, when Fleurish by the Sea will diversify to offer small bespoke educational workshops, across art, floral design, horticulture, and leadership development, in a magical seaside setting that Maine so optimally offers.
